   This is my
   interpretation
   of the detail from 
   The Triumphal Arch

   

   depicting 
   'Young Christ'.

    THE ORIGINAL MOSAIC
    from the  6th century  is one
    of the finest  icons from  that
    period.
            
     YOUNG CHRIST 

    In 1997 the  Episcopal
    Complex  of the Euphrasian
    Basilica was inscribed  by
    World Heritage  on the basis
    of  criteria which  considers
    the Basilica  an outstanding
    example of an early Christian
    episcopal ensemble.
